چکیده

SUMMARY We propose a new technique for the exact test of Hardy-Weinberg proportion that considerably extends the bounds of computational feasibility. Our algorithm is constructed analogously to a network algorithm for Freeman-Halton exact test in two-way contingency tables. In this algorithm, the smallest and largest values for the statistic are important and some interesting new theorems are proved for computing these values. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the practicality of the algorithm.

Exact tests for Hardy-Weinberg proportions.

Exact conditional tests are often required to evaluate statistically whether a sample of diploids comes from a population with Hardy-Weinberg proportions or to confirm the accuracy of genotype assignments. This requirement is especially common when the sample includes multiple alleles and sparse data, thus rendering asymptotic methods, such as the common chi(2)-test, unreliable. Such an exact t...

On the testing of Hardy‐Weinberg proportions and equality of allele frequencies in males and females at biallelic genetic markers

Standard statistical tests for equality of allele frequencies in males and females and tests for Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium are tightly linked by their assumptions. Tests for equality of allele frequencies assume Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, whereas the usual chi-square or exact test for Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium assume equality of allele frequencies in the sexes. In this paper, we propose ways...

A test for genetic association that incorporates information about deviation from Hardy-Weinberg proportions in cases.

For assessment of genetic association between single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and disease status, the logistic-regression model or generalized linear model is typically employed. However, testing for deviation from Hardy-Weinberg proportion in a patient group could be another approach for genetic-association studies. The Hardy-Weinberg proportion is one of the most important principles i...

Exact Inference for Hardy-Weinberg Proportions with Missing Genotypes: Single and Multiple Imputation

This paper addresses the issue of exact-test based statistical inference for Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in the presence of missing genotype data. Missing genotypes often are discarded when markers are tested for Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, which can lead to bias in the statistical inference about equilibrium. Single and multiple imputation can improve inference on equilibrium. We develop tests ...

An unconditional exact test for the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium law: sample-space ordering using the Bayes factor.

Much forensic inference based upon DNA evidence is made assuming that the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE) is valid for the genetic loci being used. Several statistical tests to detect and measure deviation from HWE have been devised, each having advantages and limitations. The limitations become more obvious when testing for deviation within multiallelic DNA loci is attempted. Here we present ...
